It's tomorrow! Time flies, doesn't it?
I am planning on being there, and I am planning on being there for the entire day. However, there's an issue.
They sent an email literally this morning that said they cannot guarantee parking. Imagine that! It's in a major city, and on a major university campus. Somehow, they couldn't get this thing into a place with actual parking. And the city - like all the others in this state - didn't consider parking when laying out the city. There is very little available.
Pay parking is available, but since the summit goes from 9-5, that could get very pricey. The pay parking is also at meters, which, in this area, is usually 2 hour parking, which isn't going to cut it. I'm assuming parking is going to be limited. I don't know when the university starts having students return, but I know this past week a lot of the local colleges were having at least freshmen coming in to move into dorms.
I considered getting an Uber, but the cost of to and from via an Uber is rather prohibitive. Sadly, I don't have any other options for getting there.
Either way, I plan to head out for this thing tomorrow morning. If I can't find parking, I'm afraid all of this was for nothing. But I am going to do my best. I'm not sure what to expect from this. It's in an on campus hotel, and I don't know how big that hotel is, so I don't know how big of an event this is actually going to be. I have my questions that I want answers to, and even if this proves to be really benign, I'll let you know what I found out. Again, I am not going there to troll or disrupt. I am going to play a roll through this entire day, try to stay in character, and try to not get found out... and try to stay for the entire thing without being chased out. Yes, I plan to walk out of there at 5:00 without them knowing I don't actually support their cause.
Fingers crossed that I can locate some kind of parking within at least 2 miles of the hotel.
