I'm coming in a little early with this, but since everything is so uncertain, I wanted to say something early just in case.
I'm in the path of Hurricane Irma (not Florida). The update this morning was promising. Our weather people think we'll get hit with tropical storm force winds instead of hurricane force winds, and they are predicting 2-5" of rain and don't think it will hit us even as hard as Hurricane Matthew hit us. But it is still too early for them to be certain (landfall in my state is expected Monday or Tuesday), and a lot depends on how this thing hits land, if it hits Cuba, if this system moves here or there... basically, things are changing hourly. I'm hoping for as little impact as we can get. It would be awesome if by some miracle this thing got suddenly blown out to sea all together, but that's so unlikely it's laughable.
Anyway, I mention this because there is a strong possibility that I may vanish temporarily. If we get hit light, I might lose power for a while (we lose power here if a gnat farts. But I'm on the police/EMT grid for power, so we usually get restored first). If we get hit heavy, with hurricane force winds, I might be gone for a few days. When this is all over, regardless, helping my community is going to take priority. Trump and Antifa and everything else are still going to be there when I get back. But we've got communities here that still haven't recovered from Matthew, and here we are again.
I just don't want anyone worrying. Prayers are requested for Florida and the entire east coast. I'll keep posting and doing my thing here for as long as I can.
