Thanks, Obamacare

Oh, this one is a real doozy.

Recently, I injured my shoulders and neck. Because of this, I have been going to a chiropractor once a week to get my neck and spine back into alignment. I've been paying her out of pocket, mostly because my insurance covers pretty much nothing.

We both got curious and decided to submit my information to insurance anyway, just to see if it would cover it. I mean, I pay monthly, and my payment is going up by a rather large amount next year, it would be nice if something got paid, at least in part, by my insurance.

As many of you know from previous rants and articles, I do, in fact, use Obamacare.

This morning, I received this email from my chiropractor:

You read that right. So, let's break this down. If she was in network, they wouldn't even pay half per visit for the first three visits, then I'd have to meet a deductible of $7350.

She's not in network - which isn't a shock, I have not found many doctors within two hours of my home that are, and their field of medicine doesn't matter - so they pay nothing until I hit the deductible of $29,400!

If I went to the chiropractor once a week for an entire year, the bill comes out to $3100. That doesn't meet the deductible for either situation they provided her.

I'm really not sure who manages to wrack up $29,000 in chiropractor bills, but they might need surgery.

Before all of this garbage was put into place, chiropractor bills were covered. My insurance policy actually covered - 100% - up to 60 visits per year to a chiropractor. Then we all got "saved" by Obamacare.

Seriously, I don't know where all these people who claim Obamacare saved their lives live or what policy they are on, but I don't see it. I can't even get a decent primary care provider that takes this insurance, and when I do find a doctor that takes it, it only covers the yearly preventative stuff, nothing extra. I seriously am still not over them covering a pap smear exam and then not covering the biopsy afterwards when it came back abnormal.

It is time for our politicians to grow a spine and get rid of this garbage.
