I really don't like this trend of justifying the over spending of a Republican by sighting the over spending of a Democrat.
Our nation has a massive spending problem, one that counts no matter who is in the White House, Congress, and/or Senate. Now, I already made a video about the military parade Trump wants. And I expected push back on it, which I have gotten. People like to insinuate that I don't respect our military because I don't support the parade. Actually, I don't like being fiscally irresponsible to peacock instead of doing real good for our military members and Veterans. In the video, I cited an argument in meme form, but another is appearing.
As I said, sighting the over spending of a Democrat does not justify the over spending of a Republican. Should Obama have sent $1.7 billion to Iran? No. Does the fact that he did mean it's perfectly OK to spend $22 million on a parade because it's a lot less money and it honors our military? NO!
Can that money be better spent elsewhere? Yes. A lot of the money we spend in the USA could be better spent elsewhere. In this case, we can use the $22 million to honor our military. But instead of having a parade we could do one or more of the following:
I have no problem at all spending $22 million on our military. As long as it is spent doing something for them that is less symbolic and more real.
